The Hotel Miramare is one of Positano's oldest hotels. Established in 1946 by Carlo Cinque with the arrival of the American armed forces, the hotel has remained in the family's ownership. It is now managed by his grandchildren, the Attanasio family who also owns the Hotel Palazzo Murat. The Attanasio family has long been associated with fine hotels and their name is well known for excellence in service. The Hotel Miramare has been the preferred resting spot to many celebrities: Lex Barker, Lana Turner, Totò, Anna Maria Pierangeli, Vittorio Gassman. You can look at their autographs and comments on the hotel in the famous guest book in the lobby.

"This was our favorite place of the trip. I would go back here in a second and Rosita is a BIG reason. She had some great ideas on what to do and where to go -- we took her advice. First day, to the Amalfi Coast and Ravello, a wonderful town. Day two, we hired a car to go to Naples, and then went to the Archeological Museum in Naples--what an experience. Day three, Capri -- oh my, need I say more? Didn't need to do the Blue Grotto, we swam through the Green Grotto -- Loved it! She also recommended some unbelievable places to eat. We celebrated our anniversary at Next2 and it was wonderful, memorable. This was a fabulous vacation and we will remember it forever." (10/2010)
