Ambassade Hotel
Herengracht 335-353
1016 AZ Amsterdam
Ten 17th-century canal-side houses on the distinguished
Herengracht in the historic centre of Amsterdam form the accommodations for the stylish
Ambassade Hotel. A unique location at one of the city's loveliest spots, the hotel is
situated very quiet yet within easy walking distance of museums, restaurants and important
places of interest. The Ambassade offers Free Wireless Internet
throughout the building.
The 58 rooms and suites at the Ambassade Hotel have been furnished and decorated with care
and provided with every modern convenience. The attractive lobby, salons and other
public areas contain antique furniture and clocks combined with modern paintings created
by the famous Cobra group. Enjoy the elegant yet personal service so typical of this
hotel. Management and staff will be pleased to answer any question you might have, satisfy
any special requests, and provide both business and tourist guests with excellent service
at all times.
Over the years, the Ambassade Hotel has expanded
considerably. Starting with just one canalside building in 1953, it now has 58 hotel rooms
distributed among 10 of these buildings. Eight of these canalside homes at numbers 335 to
353 are on the Herengracht while two others are located at numbers 388 and 390 on Singel.
Other buildings are in use by the Ambassade Hotel too, but for other purposes: the ground
floors of 321 and 323 Herengracht accommodate the hotel's Float & Massage Centre known
as Koan Float, the first two floors at 328 Single house a conference room in antique style
and a large storage space, the building at 380 Singel has a delivery entrance and various
offices, and the entire building at 392 Singel where only the lower two floors are in use
at this time. Except for the building at 335 Herengracht, all the canalside buildings are
physically interconnected. The hotel rooms, breakfast restaurant and lounge are
easily accessible by elevator / lift.
The Ambassade Hotel has recently completed the renovation of 18 rooms, and 5 more
will be completed in the winter of 2012. There are now 13 Deluxe rooms and 10
Superior rooms, along with 6 Suites. All overlook the canal.
The Ambassade Hotel has a number of public areas that can
be used by guests at any time. These spaces are particularly suitable for an informal or
business meeting, but also offer our guests an opportunity to simply enjoy the hotel's
atmosphere at their leisure. The public areas provide a good impression of the style of
the Ambassade Hotel, a splendid blend of classical and antique, combined with modern art
from the Cobra movement. At the same time, all public areas also provide modern
conveniences, such as a telephone connection, enabling you to make both internal and
external telephone calls. Drinks and meals from our room service menu are also served in
these areas.
Lobby - As you enter the Ambassade Hotel you will find yourself in the hotel lobby,
which has various seating areas with comfortable chairs and an 18th-century ball leg table
at which you can quietly read the paper or do some writing. The lobby also has a showcase
with works by sculptress Ans Hey. An extensive range of international newspapers and
magazines is available as well.
Library - Turning left past the reception desk you will come to the Ambassade
hotel's library with its magnificent furniture of the end of the 18th century. The style
of this furniture is known as "Retour d'Egypte" and dates back to just before
the end of the 18th century. The library contains a unique collection of eighteen hundred
signed books by Dutch and foreign authors who have all stayed at the Ambassade Hotel. Here
you can also view copies of our guest books.

An effective method of preventing and alleviating stress symptoms is relaxation training.
The ability to relax is an art which some people find difficult, but it is an ability
which can be acquired. An effective and pleasant way to achieve this is by floating: a
scientifically proven relaxation method in which you enter your own private cabin and
float weightlessly in a high-level saline solution continuously heated to 35.5°C.
What does floating do for you? Within just a few minutes, floating provides you with a
unique feeling of weightlessness. Muscles and internal organs relax, breathing slows down
and the heart takes on a slower rhythm as well. Floating reduces the production of stress
hormones and gives you renewed energy. Step out feeling completely refreshed.
And besides floating, Koan Float is a great place for a wide variety of massages ranging
from relaxation massage and shiatsu, to foot reflexology and rebalancing. Together,
floating and massage make a perfect combination, but a massage session alone is possible
as well.
For more information, visit Koan Float's website at: www.koanfloat.com.

"What a great property."
" Hi Bonnie, just wanted to thank you for recommending the Ambassade in Amsterdam. We loved it. The service was exquisite and, as an added bonus, Rick Steve was staying there. He introduced himself to us and chatted wtih us for a long while. I hope he gives it a great review. He was updating his Amsterdam guidebook (which we had). Thanks again!"
