The Hotel Villa Aurea is situated in Cortona, where the Tuscan hills meet the Umbrian hills. It is a few kilometers from centers of artistic interest and international culture in Florence, Siena, Perugia, and Arezzo. Inside the the 30,000 sq. m. park there is a hundred year old red wood (sequoia) tree that dominates the Italian gardens that are lined with spaces and relaxing paths. This four star hotel consists of three independent residential units: the central villa dating back to 1700 with the attached private chapel, and the two side annexes- Il Villino and La Limonaia.  

At Hotel Villa Aurea every single detail was taken into consideration from the hospitality to the antistress journey, from the cuisine to the nature of the surrounding park, and from the materials used for the furnishings to the music and colors so that the approach to a vacation of wellness can be lived as a global experience that involves the mind and body in a complete deep harmony. The 22 rooms, including two suites, have the names of precious stones. Each room has a monochromatic décor chosen to begin the journey of relaxation.

All bathrooms have a window, shower, and hairdryer. In the sitting room there is a sofabed for two more people.

With its minimalist style the “Le Salette” restaurant produces atmosphere of relaxation characteristic of the entire hotel. The cuisine consists of traditional Italian dishes leaving ample space for the tastes of its basic ingredients.

One of the peculiar characteristics of Hotel Villa Aurea is the vast 30,000 sq. m. park that surrounds the villa and expands like a large terrace looking onto the Val di Chiana.To the left of the entrance road there is an aromatic garden that radiates from the pathways of jasmine, lavender, rosemary, and sage. To the right there is a walkway with two ambience that intersect in continual harmony. The Italian gardens stand out with their network of walkways and old trees including the pine, yew, and red wood that lead to the swimming pool with the solarium en fresh air. The strip of land to the right of the villa has remained in tact with respect to the architecture from the late 1700’s that displayed a horrid and scary aspect of nature which was wild and exuberant forming a small wood with a dominating, characteristic cave made of natural stone. Returning towards the villa there are ponds with water lilies and fish that harmoniously share the space.

In the park, just in front of the Villa, one can admire a Giant Redwood (Sequoia) tree- one of the largest of its kind in the province of Arezzo. Even though the top was hit by lightning in 1980, it is still 21 meters high and has a circumference of 6 meters. Originating from the Sierra Nevada (California) mountain range, it was planted 150 years ago in the park of the Villa. Its botanical name is Sequoiadendron giganteum (Lindl.) Bucholz. Several other centuries old trees prosper in the park of the Villa: a yew (Taxus Baccata L.), a rare cypress from Monterey (Cupressus Macrocarpa Hart.), and a fir from Algeria (Abies numidica). These tress are cited in the guides of the province of Arezzo as trees of remarkable historical and naturalistic interest.

The Hotel has a swimming-pool en fresh air in the park with dressing-room and services bar and restaurant. In July 2007, the innovative Aquaspagold inside "Gold Waters Grotta" a natural cave in the middle of the park, is a polysensorial station for a new wellness concept called the Shirodara Treatment which includes tepidarium, aromatized vapor bath, thalasso themral shower, mud-seaweed compress and the exclusive hydropneumomassage with wine essensences, champagne, & milk, etc. Inside the villa there is a twin jacuzzi hydromassage for two with ozone and chromo relaxation with essential oils.

The hotel has an original and innovative Wellness Center articulated in two part: one dedicated to the body wellness and the beauty with affirmated techniques, natural products and high quality of cosmetics, which is in perfect harmony with the other part dedicated to the wellness and the beauty of the mind with a method for the knowledge and the management of the stress with time of audiovision relaxation and oxygen relaxation, scientifically tested. The hotel has a little but furnished gymnasium which is possible to use during all the day, according to the guest wishes.
