In via dei Tornabuoni at the top floor of the medieval tower overlooking Piazza Santa Trinita, a new accommodation has been created; a period residence planned to welcome a few choice guests in a sophisticated and private atmosphere. The entrance is through the ground floor hall of the palace, a private elevator reaches the top floor where the lobby is located in a veranda offering a magnificent bird's eye view of the historic centre of Florence; from it there is access to the spacious terrace surrounded by guelph crenellated walls with a breathtaking 360° vista over the city.
The twelve rooms offer all modern conveniences and are decorated in a simple, elegant style; there are extraordinary views of the major city monuments. This palace, built in the middle of the 13th century was the residence of the Gianfigliazzi family until the end of the 18th century, and was the seat of the celebrated "Casino de' Nobili" (club of the aristocracy). Through the years a number of famous personages and artists were guests in the dwelling palace of this illustrious family, among others: Alessandro Manzoni,Vittorio Alfieri and king Louis Buonaparte . From the beginning of the 20th century to the end of World War II English aristocrats and intellectuals, charmed by Florence, chose the Pensione Piccioli in via Tornabuoni, in this same building, as their favourite residence. The Tower is located at the beginning of Via dei Tornabuoni, just across the Santa Trinita bridge, and next to the Church of Santa Trinita.

Client Comments:
"Antica Torre" was fabulous! We used it as our base for a week with side trips by train and bus to Siena and Pisa, and I would recommend it to anyone. Lovely breakfast every morning looking straight out at the Duomo, and wine in the same place at the end of each day, after enough museums and churches to satisfy anyone's desire for Renaissance art. We loved every minute."
"Our favorite hotel, hands down. The roof top terrace was fabulous and the breakfasts were superior".
"It was so perfect, everything went so well! The staff was so attentive and the location unbeatable. The restaurant/terrace on the roof top overlooking the Arno river and Duomo was marvelous for all the guests to socialize. Could not have been better!" (Eight room wedding party).
"Antica Torre Hotel, beautiful, large, nicer rooms than Rome, location was good, very nice hotel."
