Small & Elegant Hotels International now offers a private luxury apartment in the charming and historic city of Beaune, France, just a 2-1/2 hour drive from Paris. The "Chardonnay" is a smart two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment with an abundance of natural light, situated in the heart of Beaune, just a 2-minute walk from the famous Hôtel-Dieu (hospital, pictured at left), founded in 1443.

Only minutes from Apartment Chardonnay, you will find yourself among the most celebrated wine villages in the world. From renowned red wine towns such as Vosne-Romanée, to the white wine village of Meursault, the list is endless for the wine lover. Highlights include: Domaine de la Romanée-Conti in Vosne Romanée, Gevrey-Chambertin, Chambolle-Musigny, home of Clos du Tart , Pommard, Volnay, and Puligny Montrachet (While you are in Puligny make sure to reserve a table at Le Montrachet for a most enjoyable lunch).

The apartment is just a short walk from everything you need: the bakeries for your morning pain au chocolat, the cafes for your afternoon aperatif, and of course the many restaurants for your dining pleasure. Step outside the gate and stroll through the medieval streets, savor the sights and sounds of the farmers market and fill you baskets with the freshest local fruits and vegetables.

Upon entering the apartment, the large and sunny open plan space welcomes you home. The apartment is warmly furnished in an elegant, yet comfortable style. Great attention to detail was given during a recent renovation and redecoration of the apartment, and top-quality materials were used throughout. The open plan living and dining areas feature beamed ceilings, a wood-burning fireplace, and offer splendid views over the Beaunoise rooftops. The gourmet kitchen is fully equipped to help you make the best use of abundant local foods and wines with a Lacanche rangeoven, and fridge/freezer. There is also a convenient washer and dryer.

The apartment has one queen bed in the first bedroom, and 2 twin beds in the second bedroom. Each room has an ensuite bathroom. The apartment offers free Wi-Fi Internet access and free international phone calls. Flatscreen TV with International channels, DVD player, and iPod Docking Station offer a variety of news and entertainment sources.

Rentals run Saturday to Saturday, or Friday to Friday. Longer rentals are also possible for two or more weeks, or on a monthly basis. The apartment would be great for sabbaticals or corporate stays, or as an excellent vacation base for exploring the region. The apartment is suitable for 4 adults (maximum). There is no air conditioning, but that is rarely an issue in this climate. Parking is available on the street, or in a nearby lot.

Rates range from 907 Euros per week in low season (November 2011 - April 2012) and 1227 Euros per week in high season (May 2012 - October 2012. Rates include all utilities, VAT and one day of maid service. Additional maid service can be arranged on request for an additional fee.
