The quartier
Montparnasse is both the historical stamping ground of intellectuals writers and artists
of successive generations - Hemingway, Gainsbourg, many jazz artists ... - and also a
symbol of modern Paris. The Tour Montparnasse gives you a view over Paris only equaled by
the Eiffel Tower (and shorter lines!), and you can now enjoy the newly created park and
gardens which now cover the tracks of Montparnasse station.
Within a short walk,
the Boulevard Montparnasse boasts many excellent restaurants, including the famous La
Coupole brasserie; the Rue de Rennes for up-market shopping; jazz clubs; the Montparnasse
cemetery for the last resting place of the famous! A little further is the Boulevard St
Germain. A choice of 3 direct metro lines will whisk you within minutes to the Latin
Quarter, the Ile de la Cité (Notre Dame, Conciergerie ...) and the Marais, the Eiffel
Tower, the Invalides and much more!
Facing west on the 15th
floor, floor-to-ceiling windows give a magnificent view over the recent park, and in the
distance you can see the golden dome of the Invalides and above the rooftops the tip of
the Eiffel tower. No mistaking where you are!
The entrance hall leads
to a large agreeable and airy. Living/dining room with comfortable leather sofas and
dining area, double sofabed and TV. Well-equipped separate eat-in Kitchen, with good
storage, dishwasher, washing machine. A passage leads to Bedroom 1: queen size double bed
; Bedroom 2 : 2 single beds. There are polished parquet floors throughout. Bathroom
with tub and shower attachment. Separate WC. Heat and hot water controlled centrally by
the building. Initial linen supplied. Local line telephone.
