Romanee Appartment
Paris 7th Arrondissement
Métro: 3 blocks to Pont de l'Alma metro and RER; Ecole Militaire métro is 6
blocks;
When you walk into Romanée you will be bowled over by the view of the Eiffel tower
from the large windows in the living room and dining area!
After extensive renovation remodeling this apartment has brought it up to our high
standards. It is decorated in an open contemporary style, with pale sycamore closets,
lilac sofa and modern lighting. It is 750 square feet, located on the 6th floor (with
elevator) and faces west, which means it is above the treetops, very light and sunny. The
view of the Eiffel Tower is directly ahead from the living room windows but this Paris
apartment is located on a beautiful cobbled courtyard. Romanée offers a warm and romantic
stay in Paris.
On the 6th floor of the building of an 18th century buildingwith elevator the
apartment is light and high above street. West facing and sunny. The location is one of
the most sought-after neighborhoods in Paris. It is surrounded by cafés, shops and
restaurants and walking distance to major monuments. Our favorite patisserie is a few
doors away, where the locals all go for their morning café crème. It is 12 minutes walk
to the Invalides, 5 minutes to the Trocadéro, 10 minutes the Grand Palais and the
couturier's on Ave. Montaigne. 15 minutes to the Champs Elysées, 25 minutes walk to Place
de la Concorde and the Bon Marché department store. The river is 1 block away where
the famous Bateau Mouche boat tours begin. Open Markets: Rue Cler is 5 blocks away, one of
the most famous pedestrian market streets in Paris. Pont de l'Alma is 4 minutes walk and
has the largest open air market in Paris twice a week. Merchants come from the country
with: wines, fruits, vegetables, flowers, fish, patés, breads, even 5 types of escargots!
The Ave de Saxe open market is 10 minutes walk, behind Ecole Militaire.
Enter the apartment to a short, wide corridor that leads to the large open plan living
room. A built in desk and closets of pale sycamore are on your right as you enter, good
for storage and work space.
A contemporary lilac sofa is in the middle of the room, with view of the Eiffel Tower from
the windows on your left. Touches of hot pink add a touch of color. The herringbone
parquet floors are original and restored to its original beauty, as is the marble
fireplace which faces the sofa. The room is beautiful. Best of all, you know you have
arrived in Paris as you gaze out the windows to a breathtaking view of the Eiffel Tower.
Its wonderful to stay here; enjoying each others company in the luxury of a
beautiful apartment, or simply enjoying a good book and nap on the sofa.
There is plenty of comfortable seating, as a second sofa is located on the right hand
wall, upholstered in cream colored cotton. It has a straight on view of the Eiffel Tower..
Divan during the day and voila! It pulls down to a fully made-up double bed at night;
excellent engineering and an extremely comfortable nights sleep. The view from this
bed is simply unforgettable and guests will have a tough time deciding who gets to sleep
there. You see the Eiffel Tower in front of you in all its glory, including the magic
light show which comes on every hour after dark for ten minutes until midnight. Dont
worry about getting to sleep as all of our windows have blackout blinds and curtains
but most of our guests prefer to leave them open so they can enjoy this
unforgettable view.
Next to the fireplace is an antique commode with TV, DVD player and sound system. The DVD
and CD The satellite connection means you can watch CNN, CNBC, Sky News and sample
all of the French channels as well.
The sunny living room of the apartment is open plan to the dining area and kitchen. Eating
at the table is undoubtedly one of the most romantic in Paris; it sits in front of the
second large window with full view of the Eiffel Tower, its a thrill to eat
breakfast or even a gourmet feast in front of this view.
A beautifully designed a mural on the back wall, representing buildings in the
neighborhood. The mural actually covers six closets, where you can unpack and feel at
home.
The kitchen is equipped with every appliance and accessory you might need to whip up
a gourmet meal: large refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher, washer/dryer, coffee pot, espresso
maker, toaster, microwave with convection oven and a separate convection oven.
Follow the corridor to the back of the apartment: the first bathroom is on your left and
tiled in beautiful botticino marble. There is a bathtub with shower; a lions head is
the spout, creating a touch of drama and fun. An old marble sink from Italy sits on the
limestone worktop and an 80 gallon hot water is the largest available in France, meaning
plenty of hot water.
The guest bedroom of the apartment rental is next on your right with dormer window that
looks out over the rooftops. There is a high quality double bed to provide a good
nights sleep. The location at the back of the building means it is very quiet, even
without the double glazing we have put in the windows.
The first toilet is next on your right, tiled in tumbled marble in beige, terra cotta and
cream.
The second bathroom of the apartment follows with second toilet, shower and sink. It is
tiled in white with a Provencal floral pattern running along the top.
The master bedroom of the vacation rental is at the end of the hallway and has a large
window overlooking the back courtyard. Its very quiet even without the double glazed
windows we have put in. There are beautiful silk taffeta curtains in beiges and a dual
king bed. The bed can be made up as a king-sized bed (the beds are cast iron and
dont move apart) or as two twins. There are closets on the far wall for good storage
along with tv and cable to receive English channels.
This is a non-smoking vacation rental apartment and sorry but no pets are allowed.
