delightful family villa in Provence is situated in the heart of the Alpilles hills close
to the pretty villages of St.Sixte and Eygalieres with views across the countryside to the
Alpilles. This is quintessential Provence - dazzling summers, sunflowers, lavender
fields, olive trees, vineyards and hilltop villages.
The
rooms are large and bright, the garden a delight for families with a large, level lawn
surrounding the pool. Add to this the gentle country views and shady outdoor dining areas,
and you have an idyllic, restful holiday retreat.
The villages of St.Sixte and Eygalieres are near Mas du Francois, each with a few shops
and several restaurants, (a Michelin 2 star restaurant is is the village of Eygalieres).
There is excellent riding, cycling and walking in the hills nearby, and cycles can be
hired in several local villages. There are also two 18-hole golf courses within easy
reach. To the south is the Camargue region, renowned for its fighting bulls, white horses
and flamingoes, and an important nature reserve for ornithologists.
This
family villa in Provence is also only 6 miles away from the delights of St. Remy.
