The Grand Hotel de la Minerve Rome was initially built in 1620 for the Fonseca family, aristocrats of Portuguese origin who later became Roman. During the French Revolution of 1789, Princess Massimo, widow of Duke Federico Cesi, who took refuge for a short period at the Minerve, which has been a hotel since the end of the 18th century.
The 118 room, 14 junior suites and 3 presidential suites all vary in terms of decor and design. In addition, the Stendhal Suite (at a spacious 80 msq) offers original afresco paintings, arched ceilings and a Jacuzzi. All rooms are equipped with air conditioning, color satellite TV, magnetic key card, electronic safe, and external line telephone.
The "La Cesta" restaurant offers specialty dishes with a choice of Mediterranean, Italian, & international cuisine. During the summer months, the restaurant takes up residence in the Roof Garden where guests can enjoy a magnificent view of the city. The bar "Le Cupole" is the ideal meeting place for enjoying a relaxing drink.
