Via del Babuino
196 Roma
**NON-SMOKING HOTEL**
We can hardly find the words...to make an
invitation...to present this little jewel. Our roof-garden overlooks the surrounding
rooftops below... in front, the luxuriant gardens of Villa Borghese, on the left...Piazza
del Popolo renewed and restored to its ancient splendor... at the back... the former
Goethe's house now transformed into a museum... in the distance... the Pincio
Terrace. Lunch or ... candle-light dinner await you on our terrace. During
the day a fitness room and a sauna for your well-being.
Thanks to the renovation of Palazzo Nainer, designed and built between 1819 and 1821 by
Giuseppe Valadier, this " Boutique Hotel" has been born and is situated on the
" rive droite " of the Tiber, in the heart of Rome, close to Piazza del Popolo,
in Via del Babuino.
In this ancient street lived well-known poets, writers and artists
. Goethe, Salvator
Rosa, Trilussa, Poussin and Valadier himself. In 1826 he built his own home at the number
79 where he lived and died. T8day Via del Babuino is THE STREET for Antiques and Art
Galleries, and the very famous names of international fashion are there. The shopping is
going on through Via Condotti, twined with Bond Street. The other streets are all
reserved for pedestrians and are full of colors and activities.
In the small market in Via Bocca di Leone you find the typical Italian food tastes.
All around the Hotel churches and monuments : on Piazza del Popolo S . Maria del Popolo
and the twin churches at the entrance of the three streets : via del Corso, Via di Ripetta
and Via del Babuino. On Via del Corso two museums and the Goethe's one
at the
bottom Piazza Venezia with the Vittoriano just renewed and now visit able. On the right
the Campidoglio, its museums and on the left the museum of Risorgimento. Behind us the
" Teatro Metropolitan " and its 5 cinema halls ; for theatre , variety and Opera
the theatres Valle , Sistine and the Opera are close by.
This strategic position allows us to draw itineraries for those who like to walk :

Comments from past clients:
"Our hotel in Rome (Piranesi) was quite lovely, and the staff was friendly and
helpful. The best part was the rooftop bar with Sergio the bartender, where we
gathered every evening for a glass of wine while looking out over the city."
"Rome...so, so amazing. Standing in line for a cab at the train station was interesting, and the cab ride was crazy...but we survived. Again, we were upgraded to a junior suite, and the hotel staff was very helpful. The rooftop bar became our favorite place to visit in the afternoon before and after dinner. The view was so amazing. The place next to the hotel had a concert/party of some kind on the weekend we arrived with live music and ponies, so that was a nice bonus. The walking tours were great. The ruins and colloseum were just amazing. We had such a fantastic time...I can't even describe it. The hotel was close to fantastic eateries. We had so much fun trying different Italian foods. We enjoyed the different wines even more. The best way to see things- definitely is on foot. We only needed a cab for rides from the train in Rome, to the Vatican, and to the airport. We are very glad we did not try to drive. We also are very grateful you suggested the tours! Waiting in line would have wasted days of our trip. You planned things for us very well!! (10/2010)
"Just had to drop you a quick note to let you know my
clients were absolutely delighted with the property - and they can be difficult to
please. They hope to go back to another area of Italy next year and want to stay at
Small and Elegant properies." Travel Agent, 11/2010
"The Piranesi Hotel is just spectacular. Great location, easy access to
everything, and our room was sweet -- rather large with a sitting room. The people
were accommodating, and [our guide] Antje made our visit to Rome ever so special!!!
We spent the entire day with her and she was most enjoyable. I give her five thumbs
up! We went to the Colosseum, Roman Forum, the Vatican and Sistine Chapel. In
between, we had a fabulous lunch at a place she was familiar with and recommended -- it
was wonderful. It was an expensive day, but worth every penny." (10/2010)
"Piranesi Hotel is delightful and well located. Very nice people at the hotel who cannot do enough for you. Hotel arranged tour guides, driver for cars to the airport as well as restuarants. Did a great job. Highly recommend. Stay at this small, well done and well run establishment."
"Very nice location"
"My wife and I just got back from Rome where we stayed at the Hotel Piranesi from 2 May until 7 May. Our travel agent recommended we select a hotel from your website, which we did, and she booked it through you. I can't tell you how pleased we were with the Hotel Piranesi. Our rooms was larger that we have come to expect in European hotels and the decor and furnishings were impressive. The hotel was immaculatly clean. The staff was very helpful and accomodating. Everyone we dealt with, front desk, bellmen, maids and servers made us feel like honored guests. The staff was helpful in arranging day tours and dinner reservations. The included breakfast was top notch. Another huge plus for us was the location. Right off the Piazza del Popolo and close to a metro station, it was easy to get to from anywhere. We were walking distance to the Spanish Steps, Piazza Navona, Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, shopping and much more. I would recommend this wonderful 32-room hotel to anyone."
"Hotel Piranesi was completely charming and in a fabulous location. We managed to make good use of every inch of this small and elegant hotel, from the scenic, enchanting, private garden rooftop, to the delightful breakfast room. We would highly recommend this Hotel."
"Highly recommend; traditional hotel rooms, staff very friendly and extremely helpful, fabulous breakfast, 6th floor garden roof deck with nice view and a breeze - spent time up there in late afternoon. A real plus to have roof deck. Great location."
"The Honeymoon was absolutely incredible!!! We loved everything and don't even know where to begin with this email. Hotel Piranesi in Rome was fabulous. The location was absolutely perfect and it was super easy to navigate to all of the places we wanted to see!! The staff was so great. They were helpful...gave us fun ideas that we didn't even think of.... I could go on and on. It was great!! We ate at great places... oh man are we in love with the Italian cooking and the coffee!!"
"We had the best
time! The Piranesi was the perfect hotel for us and the staff could not have been
nicer. You should have seen the "balcony" - it was a real terrace..... the
porter who took us to our room apologized at how small our room was and quickly explained
that the "very special terrace" took some of the room space..... WOW! It
was worth every lost square foot of the room! I would highly recommend this hotel to other
clients. There was not a noise problem (even though the THRONGS of people outside
would make one think they were on Bourbon St during Mardi Gras) It was a great
location for everything we wanted to see and do. THANK YOU for not putting us
anywhere near the base of the Spanish Steps! The crowd there was enormous all day.
"My clients just came back from staying at Palazzo Abadessa and they are just raving
about the place - lovely, so well looked after."
