Dear Diary. From the US to Fonteverde, a teen ager traveler:

In February I had the opportunity to visit Italy. In between exploring fabulous Rome and beautiful Florence, we took a train to Chiusi. When we got off the train, we were greeted and driven through the green hills of Tuscany. We pulled into the long driveway, which lead us to a spot where we could see the amazing thermal pool. When I saw the pool, my eyes almost popped out of my head. I was so excited to be at this resort and so were my feet. They needed a break from the cobblestone streets of Rome. We entered the lobby and were immediately greeted by the GM. I was traveling with my mom and her friend Gary, who is the editor of Luxury Spa Finder Magazine.

We were shown to a gorgeous suite. Fonteverde has many pools and a big spa. Although I could not have a massage since I am only ten, I experience many other neat things. I tried the Kneipp Bath. In a Kneipp Bath there are two narrow pools filled with water, one 97 degrees and the other 57 degrees. You are supposed to wade through one and then the other. The purpose of it is to get your blood circulating. I also experienced something called the Biaquam a giant pool, indoor and outdoor, and with massage jets at different parts of the pool. You turn them on and then sit on them. The purposed of the Biaquam is to massage your body. After a relaxing time in the Biaquam we went to the Salt Flotation pool, where the water is 20% salt, You are supposed to float in the pool for 20 minutes. My favorite part of the spa was the giant waterfall in the outdoor thermal pool. You can sit under the falls and feel the hot water rushing down on your back. I had a ball with mom and Gary under the falls.

The staff at Fonteverde could not have been nicer. The Italians' love kids and this resort was a great place for us to stop in between the two city tours. I hope to come back to spend more time in this area of Italy. The food, especially the pasta, is great, and I loved my visit to the thermal baths.
