Staying at Castelletto di Montebenichi is a unique, exciting experience. The guests staying at this hotel, are surrounded by precious works of art, including period frescoes, archeological finds, sketches and antique paintings and drawings, sculptures, bronzes and ceramics, will be caught up in a pleasant, unforgettable out-of-this-world atmosphere. In this exclusive hotel in Chianti, traditions and modern comfort are combined perfectly. Together with works of art there are also modern amenities such as internet satellite connection.
The rooms of this castle that dates back to the 12th
century contain antique art collections belonging to the owners. There is a
small collection of paintings and drawings from various periods in the library. In the
foyer there is a display cabinet full of Greek, Roman and Etruscan terracotta specimens.
The open gallery on the first floor houses the breakfast room, where you can drink
tea or coffee with biscuits as well as eat the tasty buffet breakfast offered each
morning. Guests can enjoy the large private park near the castle that merges in
with the gently sloping Tuscan hills. Inside the park there is a panoramic swimming
pool with a small sauna, and a short walk away, in the greenhouse overlooking
the valley guests can find a gym with a jacuzzi mini-pool . This is ideal for
letting guests relax and rest in the countryside.
The hotel's other facilities include a bar lounge where guests can help themselves
at any time of the day and a free car park just a short walk from the hotel. The
hotel does not have a restaurant. In the village, however, very close to the hotel, a
wonderful “trattoria” called “L’Orciaia” offers tasty traditional
Tuscan dishes. Wine and live oil produced in Montebenichi can be found in the small hotel
shop, located in the tiny square, just in front of the main building.
The owners of Castelletto di Montebenichi have six double rooms and three suites
for their guests, all rooms that have modern furniture mixed with period pieces,
thereby creating a charming, unique effect. Each room has an individual personality,
with a special style and atmosphere and they all have comforts such as en-suite bathroom,
hairdryer, telephone, satellite TV, fridge and safe. All the rooms have air
conditioning.
Castelletto di Montebenichi is closed from
November 3rd through to March 24th.
The hotel is a non-smoking establishment and does not accept any type of animals.
