Montartino -Villa Le Piazzole, Historical Country-House of Acciaioli Family until 15th Century, was built around the most ancient Medieval Tower, grows up on the Arcetri Hill, at the corner between "Suor Maria Celeste" and "San Matteo in Arcetri" roads, classic itineraries for walking-tours on the Florentine hills. Although, thanks to its closeness to the city, as the panoramic photos show, Montartino -Villa Le Piazzole enjoys silence and air because the hills are separated from the "heart of the city". The narrow streets restrict the car traffic. Like our Guests have told, "It is a green Peacefull Oasis" "Another World".
Montartino - Villa le Piazzole is pleasant and interesting for the architecture, as a matter in fact it has preserved the aspect of 17th century. It is a Nobleman Classic House situated on the hills of Florence. The exact position is at the crossroads between two ancient roads and it is considered a little pause square, for people coming to Florence by foot from the Chianti Hills.
On the main gate there are two coats of arms one belongs to the Acciaioli Family, the other one to the Del Riccio Family. The first noble family was were in possession of the Villa until 1474. Del Riccio family wounded the shapes of the Villa which are totally respected by recent restoration.
On the description of Florence environment, Piazzole is mentioned by writers; amateurs or professional painters, attracted by the simple and elegant lines of the Villa. Alter a long state of neglect, the actual owners, fascinated from the buildings characteristics and their wonderful location, decided to work hard for the restoration of Montartino - Villa Le Piazzole giving a touristic activity. Building restoration has been leaded with respect of the architectonic and historical values. Also the country-grounds are re-cultivated with olive-trees and vineyards as in the past. "
