In the heart of the Chianti area, just a few kilometers from Florence is the Renaissance "Villa Il Poggiale", classified as a historical home, entirely restored by its owners with the aim of offering the hospitality and atmosphere of a patrician family country house at really affordable prices. The Villa has wonderful light and spacious rooms. The large hall, the heart of the house, with its beautifully painted doors, has comfortable armchairs and welcoming sofas, while various other smaller lounges offer quiet, cozy corners for reading and relaxation. Each room has its own unique character. The walls are painted in soft pastels made from natural pigments. The fabrics used for curtains and canopies come from small Tuscan artisan workshops. Oriental silks, on the other hand, have been used in the salons and rooms on the ground floor. There are a total of 24 rooms and suites and all rooms include the following:

Seated under the Renaissance Loggia, guests can look out over the formal Italian gardens and be enveloped in the fragrance of old roses and flowering shrubs. Even if you are sipping your tea or working on your notebook (the garden is also covered by broadband Wireless Internet and the VoIP service to make phone calls is available) you can still enjoy the Tuscan countryside.

We are proud to announce the opening of our new wellness center inside the Villa, which has been created to complete your stay among the rolling hills of the Tuscan countryside with moments of relax and wellbeing. The wellness center has been specifically designed for Villa Il Poggiale and offers simple and efficient treatments with natural products from the Tuscan territory such as grapes, citrus fruits,olives, honey and essential oils.

Villa Il Poggiale is an ideal setting for weddings, parties and workshops. We’ll be pleased to help you to organize an unforgettable wedding or a special celebration. Wedding planners, flower decorators and the best of catering service can also be provided. A New Years concert on the first of January takes place in the great hall of the Villa. The concert is made up of Chamber Music with soloist from Maggio Musicale Fiorentino. After the concert we offer our guests the traditional mulled wine accompanied by dried and candied fruits.

Our collaboration with Marchesi Antinori started in 2003 and allows our guests to enjoy their wine estates and restaurants in the Chianti region and in Florence from a privileged standpoint. To sleep in a Renaissance villa and to visit the Antinori properties will be an unforgettable experience!

Deluxe Dependence - Two-Bedroom Apartment

La Fonte: Is the name of the farmhouse dating back to the 16th century which has been completely restored. It is only 100 meters from the Villa along a path which winds its way through the olive grove. The apartment is very comfortable and bright, with spectacular views of the garden and surrounding olive groves. There are two spacious bedrooms with air conditioning (one double and one three bedded room), each with its own bathroom and comfortable living area with a fireplace. The kitchen has a dishwasher, washing machine and also every facility for preparing a meal.

"What a beautiful room! I could look out the front window to the driveway but was a bit too short to see the full view over the fields - John said that it was lovely!! The villa is beautiful and the staff extremely helpful and friendly. As it was off season, only breakfast was served but there were some nice restaurants in the town. We had a car so this was a great base from which to visit Tuscanny. "04/10
