In one of the last strongholds of the Tuscan territory, on the border with Romagna, 400 metres above sea level, in the little valley of the Senio river the village of Palazzuolo rises in the heart of this green oasis. In the peaceful medieval hamlet you find the Senio Inn with its six delightful bedrooms and two suites, all decorated with local antique pieces, where the owners Ercole and Roberta Lega offer cordial and refined hospitality. Their continual research in the use of herbs and fruits forgotten through the centuries are used to present the guests with tasty traditional medieval dishes. Staying at the Inn is an experience dense in perception and serenity where the guest can revive times gone by in a suggestive frame of silent centuries old chestnut groves, and it will enrich the sensitivity of whoever should try it. Before leaving, a visit to the Dispensa della Locanda (The Inn's Larder) is recommended, a shop attached to the hotel where it is possible to buy all the local products like chestnut honey, the wild berry liqueur and the fantastic cured meats of "Porcaro Medioevale" products of the Inn.

The Locanda Inn has, internally, a characteristic restaurant heated by a huge chimney where it is possible to taste particularly unique food . Roberta Lega, the owner, is an untiring researcher of rare herbs which she ably combines in her cooking with wild fruits, game, mushrooms, wildfowl, creating dishes with an unusual taste that you can only try here. It is also worth trying the extremely tasty pork from the "Le Panare" company of Marco Minardi, who raises saddle-back pigs and other species leaving them in the wild state as in the medieval manner.

Six delightful rooms and two luxurious suites (with fireplaces), combine antique furniture with modern confort. The hotel provides many amenities . A small meeting room, an elegant restaurant, asummer terrace with a view of the old square of the village, a health centre with Jacuzzi, aromatherapy, a heated outdoor swimming pool, where one can enjoy the sun in absolute serenity.
