Approached by a cypress avenue beyond a 400m.well maintained track, this much loved stone and glass villa is in a wonderful position, on its own little hilltop in the middle of the owners’ 400-hectare estate. With 160 hectares of surrounding land, with lawns, gardens and trees, the house commands panoramic views of classic unspoiled Tuscan landscape. Dotted with castles, villages, farmhouses and vineyards the views fold away forever. Designed in a style reminiscent of Richard Neutra, a disciple of Frank Lloyd Wright, this prestigious modern house for the Italian-American owner of a large vineyard and agricultural estate was built about 40 years ago. The house faces west and enjoys unforgettable sunsets from inside and outside. The impression one has of the house from the outside, with its sharp long shapes intersected with stone columns, and glass, belies the comfort and pleasure of the interior, which is furnished with Tuscan antiques and contemporary classics.

- 5 Bedrooms (1 bedroom with a queen bed and 4 bedrooms with either a king or 2 twin beds)

Twin/queen (can be either) with super storage space and small terrace and a double
bedroom with library which would probably be best for 1 person; these 2 rooms share a
bathroom with tub and separate shower. Another double bedroom with a pass through to a
bathroom with a tub and handheld shower, another twin/queen with small terrace and another
queen also with a small terrace; these two bedrooms share a bathroom with tub and separate
shower and the 6th bedroom has twin beds with a single headboard and a showered bath with
tub & separate shower.

Household Amenities
Huge living room with a grand piano and currently non-working fireplace with
an easy transition into the dining room and/or study as well as the breakfast room. Easy
access from all rooms to multiple terraces and a simple eat-in kitchen. The furnishings
are a comfortable mix of Tuscan antiques and contemporary classics. A grand piano, large
whirlpool refrigerator, large freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, professional pots
& pans, satellite TV, CD player, telephone and central heating available at an extra
cost.
Outside and Additional
Features
At first glance this flat roofed house seems strangely un-Tuscan but in fact
when you are in the house the walls all but disappear. The estate is 450 acres with 400
under cultivation. This west-facing house offers sensational sunsets. Newly restored 23' x
46' pool secluded on north side of house with vineyard views, barbecue, 2 car garage, good
walking just out the door, possible dining on terrace in or out of the sun, umbrellas,
chairs and chaises on the terrace and at the pool. Nearly 6200 square feet of living
space, resident caretaker, tours, guides and catering available through the tri-lingual
owners who live 1 km away.

Shops and restaurants 5-10 minute drive, Monteriggioni 10 minutes, Siena 20 minutes,
Florence45 minutes, Colle Val d'Elsa 5 miles, major north/south highway 12 minute drive. Complimentary
US calls on land line & internet service is free when using own laptop computer with
modem.
Meals
Cooking lessons available at a price of 75 e per person/includes meals. We have a full restaurant list at the villa which we share for cooking with the clients or you can make reservations instead; all of the restaurants are favorites owned and run by people we know very well. Great down home cooking to 3-star Michelin.

The owners of La Vigna & La Tana also own the
nearby La Tanica Winery. For 16
Euro per person they will provide a visit to and a light lunch at the winery. It includes
a pasta, cold cuts, cheese, bruschetta (with their own olive oil), and seven wines. Please
