Situated in a unique location, on a hilltop, within the historical center of Perugia, at very close walking distance from the main historical sites, the 5 star deluxe Hotel Brufani Palace offers an enchanting view of the Umbrian valley. Giacomo Brufani, born in Assisi, was of modest origins, but since he was a young boy he showed a particular interest in tourists. He began as an "assistant" to tourists visiting Umbria in stagecoaches, looking after the horses, and, when needed, explaining the attractions of the Umbria towns. In 1884 he decided to open a hotel, which immediately became the home away from home for aristocrat families coming from all over Europe. Guests in modern times include Prince Albert of Monaco and the Queen Mother of England!
The spacious halls and public areas with their painted high ceilings and original parquet floors have been carefully restored to its antique splendor offering a magnificent panoramic view of the Umbrian landscape. The great stone fireplaces, lit in the winter time, the precious chandeliers and antique furniture transmit an immediate sense of warmth and contribute in creating a certain atmosphere which recalls the "Belle Epoque" period.
The cozy atmosphere of the old fashioned residence offers 94 elegantly appointed rooms
and suites, all equipped with modern amenities and comfort.
Features include the latest in room amenities, as individually controlled air
conditioning, computer links, fax machines, direct dialing, two line telephones with voice
messaging, sat television, WI-FI, mini bar and safe. The particular spacious penthouse
rooms on the last floor with lower ceilings and wooden beams offer roofside views.
The Restaurant "Collins", with its outdoor terrace in the summer, is famous
for is regional cuisine and is highlighted by a great selection of refined wines.
The American bar, decorated in English style, is the ideal place to savor an afternoon tea
or a cocktail. Luxurious banqueting halls are available for private parties in an
exclusive atmosphere while the roof garden can hold up to 75 people.
The SINA Fitness Club features a transparent glass floor of the indoor swimming-pool revealing its three millenium old Etruscan ruins. Next to it, there is a gym room with sports equipment, sauna, steam bath, whirlpool and chaises-lounges for moments of relaxation. The Concierge assistance is available for organizing sightseeing excursions and limousine service.
