La Preghiera is located in Italy’s green heart, the land of poets, saints and painters, Saint Francis of Assisi, Michelangelo of Caprese, Luca Signorelli of, maybe, Morra, and of course Raffaello of Cittį di Castello. Our website, Tunstill's Umbria, which might amuse, entertain and inform. The property is but a short cycle ride to one of the best ice-cream and pastry shops in the area, or in all of Umbria, maybe even Italy ... or perhaps the world!! We are within a thirty minute countryside drive to about ten medieval hilltop towns with their wonderful architecture, quaint streets, good museums, and family restaurants.

Road directions from the South (Rome, Perugia…)

Take the E45 direction Perugia and Cesena•
Follow the E45 past Perugia and take the exit for Promana (about 30km) and follow for Trestina•
Follow through Promano towards Trestina and at the large roundabout (with Italcash on the left hand side), turn left towards Trestina, passing through Cornetto.•
Follow signs for Trestina•
Passing through Trestina, there is a sign for Verna. Immediately after there is a small bridge and on the right hand side, a large shop “Jeans Story” and ahead a small church. At this junction, turn right following signs for Calzolaro.•
Pass through Calzolaro (2km), slowly, and before the bridge, after the shops, there is a sign on the left for “Vecchio Granaio” and Via del Refari. Turn left and follow this tarmac road, and at the fork take the road to the right, following along with the river on the right hand side.•
La Preghiera is 500m ahead on the left. Use the second gate, cross the bridge, comein and welcome!
Road Directions from the North (Bologna, Forli’ or Cesena)
• Take the E45, direction Roma
• After Cittą di Castello, stay on the E45 and take the Promano exit (about 30km) and follow signs for Trestina

Take the road to Mercatale – it is longer but less panoramic, with fewer bends•
After Mercatale head towards Umbertide, the road number is 416, and at Niccone turn left at the “T” junction, towards Trestina and Cittą di Castello.•
In the village of Montecastelli, there is a junction where the road bends sharply to the right. Turn left on this bend (effectively it is “straight on”) and follow the road along, over the railway and through the village of Verna and agriturismo Nestore.•
Again the road bends sharply to the right and there is a junction. Turn left on the bend, with a small church on your left, signposted Calzolaro.•
