This property is situated in the country around the medieval
town of Orvieto, in the centre of a large estate of olive grove fields and chestnut woods.
It has a breathtaking position on a 350 m high hill with a spectacular view over the
surrounding landscape and the tufa rocks of Orvieto It is easily reachable within
few minutes from the highway Rome-Florence A1 and the railway station of Orvieto.
The estate belongs to the ancient noble family Fiumi di Sterpeto originating from Assisi,
who moved to Orvieto in the past centuries. The owner's grandmother, Maria Luisa Fiumi, in
the 30's a famous poetess and writer of poems about Umbria, St. Francis of Assisi and the
history of the important painter Luca Signorelli, lived here in the Villa Monteporzano,
where she met international personalities of culture. The property includes the
ancient Farmhouse recently restored and transformed into 5 wonderful apartments of
different sizes, all extremely comfortable and fitted with ancient country furniture.
Near the Farmhouse an elegant swimming-pool is at guests' disposal with a shady equipped
veranda and surrounded by a garden on English ancient roses and a field of olive trees, by
which the Fiumi produce an excellent organic extra virgin olive oil. The pool has a
fantastic view towards the tufa rocks of the town of Orvieto.

sense of peace and internal well being. The landscape is characterized by gentle rolling
hills, fertile valleys, the rivers and lakes and is the ideal place for those who seek the

visitors can follow historical or religious itineraries, as the villages and towns are
rich in monuments, cathedrals, museums, and can enjoy excellent wines and very good
traditional food prepared with locally cultivated natural products and extra virgin olive
oil. The most important towns are: Orvieto, Perugia, Assisi, Gubbio, Todi, Spoleto.
Orvieto is an Etruscan town built on 350m high tufa rocks and has been having great
importance since medieval times. It represents an extraordinary artistic and cultural
centre, rich of monuments and places to visit (the famous gothic Duomo, the Etruscan
Necropolis, the Palazzo del Capitano del Popolo, S.Patrizios well, museums,
churches, underground tours). Geographically it is situated in a central position, corner
between the three regions Umbria, Lazio and Tuscany, and is therefore perfect to easily
start a wide range of interesting tours to ancient villages, archeological sites, wine
factories, ceramic and wood handicraft shops, and to enjoy the excellent local food in the
centre and in the wonderful surrounding country. Orvieto is therefore a charming place to
spend a fantastic holiday in a perfect harmony, with culture, history and nature.
