Santa Caterina - Private Farmhouse

Situated on top of a hill with magnificent views all around: gently rolling hills and
farm lands on one side, rugged mountains with a 12th century castle perched on top on the
other. It is just outside the village of Pierantonio (3 miles), a delightful village with
bank, bakery, small supermarket, etc. Just 5 miles from colorful Umbertide with more
shops, a small rail station and a delicious weekly market on Wednesdays. The fascinating
medieval towns of Gubbio, Assisi and Perugia are easy day trips, each one about 20-30
minutes away. Less than two miles from the new 5-star Manrico Sport and Fitness Resort
with 6 tennis courts, an 18-hole golf course, an equestrian center, 2 outdoor and one
indoor swimming pools, 4 restaurants and luxury hotel.
This precious farmhouse was built in the 18th century and lovingly restored by the owners
in 1996 with every effort made to retain it's original character, using old materials
wherever possible. The main house is approximately 3,300 square feet and has been
beautifully decorated in a typical Umbrian/Tuscan style with many antique pieces,
coordinating fine fabrics, interesting artwork and oriental rugs. High quality outdoor
furniture is provided for dining al fresco or relaxing in the garden where you can drink
fine Umbrian wines and atmosphere.
Ground Floor
On the ground floor is a large entrance hall, living room with wood-burning fireplace,
dining room and a well appointed eat-in kitchen with doors to a covered terrace for
alfresco dinning.
Across the hall there is a bedroom with two single beds and an adjacent bathroom as well
as a laundry room with a washer and dryer. The bedroom has a door leading to the garden.
There are two large patios accessible from the living room and dining room, on opposite
sides of the house, giving you views of both, the valley, and the mountains.
Upper Floor
On the upper floor, there are two large bedrooms with period furnishings, queen beds and
ensuite bathrooms. In between the two bedrooms is a cozy sitting/ TV room with
wood-burning fireplace and a patio.
Castello Di Shi
Castello Di Shi was our latest project, completed in the summer of 2007. It is a small,
self contained cottage with a full kitchen, living room, dining room and bathroom
downstairs and a queen size bedroom with an antique armoire and a make-up table in the
loft.
It has its own private patio overlooking the pool and its location at the highest point of
the property offers magnificent views.
