Franklin Hotel
Knightsbridge, London
**WORKING TOWARDS MID MAY 2008 OPENING**
Following complete reconstruction of the four original Victorian townhouses, The
Franklin opened as an hotel in September 1992.
The Franklin has two interconnecting Dining Rooms which can be taken for meetings,
presentations or private parties. These private rooms can each comfortably accommodate up
to 18 on one table or 24 on three round tables.
The Bar at The Franklin is designed to be a quiet and comfortable place to have a drink.
You will find none of the hubbub of a big city bar but you will be able to have a discreet
conversation over a drink. The Bar is based on the honour system. You pour yourself a
stiff gin and tonic, sign a chit and post it. Well, that is how it is supposed to work.
If you want a bottle of wine or champagne then one of our butlers will be
summoned to bring it.
The bedrooms have been meticulously maintained and continually refurbished and are
decorated with discreet good taste, giving the impression that the guests are staying in
the owner's home. This is reflected by antique furniture, oil paintings, objets d'art and
traditional fabrics that are found in every room.
The single rooms at The Franklin are ideal for someone travelling alone who wants
to stay in a luxurious hotel at a sensible price. All our single rooms are decorated and
equipped to the same standard as all other rooms in the hotel. Because the hotel was
constructed from the shell of 4 Victorian townhouses, our rooms vary enormously.
These double bedrooms are anything but standard and each has a large double bed,
a desk and armchair. Very comfortable if you are coming to London for a few days but if
you are staying for longer why not treat yourself to a Deluxe Double or a Garden Room.
The Deluxe Double rooms at The Franklin are all so different. Each has its
individual charm and character but all are beautifully furnished with antique furniture
and objets d'art and offer great comfort at a competitive rate.
Garden Rooms - These are probably our most popular rooms. Situated on the second
or third floor, each room in this category overlooks the garden and spans the full width
of one of the original buildings. To wake up to the sound of the birds singing in the
trees is a rare pleasure for an hotel in a city like London.
With high ceilings, period mouldings and full-length French windows looking out onto the
gardens these Deluxe Garden Rooms are spectacular. In fact we consider them to be
some of the best rooms in London. Yes, of course we are biased, but then Fodors Guide
voted them the most romantic.
